Art Docents

The Art Docent program is a 100% parent-run and PTA sponsored program that provides art lessons for all Otis students. Art Docent lessons are conducted once a month and offers students the chance to express themselves in watercolor, oil pastel, clay, and more!

The PTA provides funds to purchase supplies for the program – that’s art supplies for nearly 600 students each month of the school year!  In addition, each year every class produces a collaborative art project to auction off at Spring Fling.  Some of these collaborative projects have been auctioned off for more than $1,500!

You don’t have to be an artist or have a Masters in Art History to be an Art Docent volunteer.  The lessons are prepared for each grade level and supplies are ready to go.  You just need to roll up your sleeves and get your Picasso on.  To learn more about the Art Docent Program or volunteer, join the art docent google group at!forum/otis-art or contact Jerrold Connors at
